Tuesday Morning Pickleball

Manny went in the hospital on Tuesday for a hip replacement. We are all hoping that the surgery went well and that he will be back on the courts playing with us again soon.... pain free!!
We had a good pickleball session yesterday morning (Tuesday).  3 courts again.  Sorry but I was too busy to take any photos.  Lynn

Sunday Pickleball

This posting is late but we had a good group for pickleball on Sunday afternoon.  It was kind of rainy outside but some of us got together for some good games.  We had 3 courts going.  I tried to get a few shots of Marie as she is always the one taking the pictures and never gets in them.

Thursday Morning Pickleball

This morning, we had three of our newest players trying to improve their Pickleball game and Don Gullakson was right there to give them the proper instructions.  We had 20 players and four nets set up to accommodate these players.  The last net was being used for instructional play.

Thursday Morning Pickleball

This morning we had 20 Pickleball players with 3 nets going. We all played many games some good some bad.  Drew McGinnis was out on the courts showing us adults how this game is played.  He is one great little athlete.  I know his grandparents (Marvin & Sue McGinnis) must be very proud of how he has developed playing this game of Pickleball.  Sue McGinnis was on the outside of the courts training Molly (Drew's sister) how to play Pickleball.  Molly was hitting the ball and doing quite well.  Take a look at her form.
This morning, we welcomed Nancy Custard back from vacation.  Nancy has a natural talent of keeping track of the score for herself and the other players she is playing with.  Thank goodness your back, now we don't have to worry about our score when were playing with you.

Outdoor Pickleball for Highland Lakes players.

We were not able to play Pickleball in the Arena today because maintenance was setting up the risers for tomorrow nights Chorus concert so we took our Pickleball play to the outdoor courts.  The weather was perfect for playing Pickleball outdoors today.  We had several players show up to play Pickleball but we could only use one court because the Tennis folks were using the other court.  Ken showed up as "Ken" today, since he received his new Pickleball shirt with his name on it, he left Russ at home to rest.  As you can see Lynn also had her new Pickleball shirt.  Sue Clark is still waiting to receive her shirt so she can be part of the team.  All in all there were some good games played even if we had to shorten the game to 7 points so everyone would have a turn to play.

Highland Lakes Pickleball Outing

What a beautiful day we had on Wednesday for our yearly Pickleball outing. The weather was perfect, the food was great and best of all were our friends who attended. We had a total of 60 people attend the outing. It was a great time for our new players to get to know each other and get to meet lots of new people. In the past year we have had a total of 14 new Pickleball players join our group. We also had Ken and Lynn Corbett move from Greenville SC to Higkland Lakes permanently. They are such a great addition to our Pickleball group and they were welcomed by all.
